The first 10 people to comment on this post get to request a drabble (real drabble: 100 words exactly) from me. In return, they have to post this in their journal. Post all fandoms you're willing to write for.
I only write in the Harry Potter fandom, so, don't request anything else. And I would appreciate a prompt and characters of what you'd like - please no pairings you know I am totally against (such as D/G - *shudder*)
I've been doing a bit of cooking today - I cooked up some chicken to freeze for easy - to - use chicken for recipes calling for cooked chicken. I also made up some Monkey Bread (recipe compliments of
bistyboo1974 ). And the husband wanted more hard boiled eggs, so I did those, too. Yesterday I cooked a large dish of Mosticcoli (I can never spell it correctly). So, I've been Susie Homemaker.
I go back to work tomorrow - ick. The kids go back to school - ick. Back to homework hell and work hell. I did find out Friday when I stopped by work to pick up the birthday cake for the party yesterday that I'm moving my office on Wednesday. Should be interesting. I'll have half an office and the lab. As separate entities. It'll be good, if the office mate doesn't become a huge PITA. And he could.
I didn't get my utility room cleaned out like I wanted. But the main living areas aren't too hateful for a change.
The kids only have seven weeks of school left. *Does Happy Dance* They get out June 7th. Ben's done May 26th with a graduation. From preschool. It is actually too darn cute.
Off to eat some ice cream. Nothing like ice cream to make you feel better about going back to work.

Date: 2006-04-24 11:35 am (UTC)As for drabbles... I was rereading bits of the Matryoshka Vignettes over the weekend, and I find myself for a hankering for more fill-ins there. And as that is Tim's territory I guess not. I hope he gets around to that one soonish.
Hmm, actually I think a draco and Ginny drabble would be lots of fun. Though I suppose "encounter" would be more the correct term....
"Draco pushed his broom down the sidewalk, and Ginny watched, hidden in the shadows.
She'd stopped hating him years ago. How can you hate someone who is only the shell of a man? No one knew what Voldemort, if it was Voldemort even, had done to him. Had he stood up to him? Had he not grovelled enough?
Draco wasn't speaking.
But then, he never did any more. Just smiled that curiously vacant smile, and bobbed his head at the people who went by as he pushed his broom down the street.
There's only so much the healers could do.
But Ginny kept to the shadows, waited until he had gone past. No, she didn't hate any more. But that didn't stop the crawling sensation that went scittering up her back whenever he looked at her. She didn't hate. But she didn't forget either.
And she'd rather just not have him see her.
The broom scittered past, pushed by the shuffling near-middle-aged vacant-eyed Malfoy. And Ginny turned away, and apparated home.
Time for a hug. And a hot bath. Supper would be late, but Harry would understand.
He always did."

There. Draco/Ginny! Sort-of.
I'm doing this backward, aren't I? Didn't even count words. Hmm, maybe I better save myself a copy before it disappears into LJ land.

That was brilliant, art! I love it! Thank you for sharing your talents with me - and I didn't even have to ask!

Date: 2006-04-24 12:03 pm (UTC)I forgot to answer this - the boys go to our sitters during the summer - it's nice as there are other kids there close to their age, and they read, play outside and just sort of hang.
They also do a bible camp, which is 1 week in June, for three hours a day, and then Mike and I are off for two weeks in July, and they'll do some time with my mom when the babysitter's on vacation (or we'll get my cousin's daughter to sit with them that week). All in all, they have about 11 weeks of summer holiday - 2-3 will be completely off due to our vacation/the babysitter's vacation, 1 week will only be half days due to bible camp, 1 week will more than likely be half days due to a study course I'll "probably" put them in (the older two only). So, all in all, they're not there that much. They actually don't mind it too much - Josh helps with the younger kids, Matt and Nick have fun playing with their summer friends, and Ben spends his days ticked off, because he's not the only one going! *laughs*
